1000 Year Old Giant Cedar Forest
The unique Ross Creek Cedars Scenic Area is less than an hour drive on beautiful Northwest Montana roads. The little-known Ross Creek Cedars are a little known American treasure most people will never see. The scenic area is 100 acres in size and is home to cedar trees 1,000 years old. The accessible self-guided 0.9 mile long loop trail will lead you along a path with informative signs of the history and ecology of the many plant and animal species native to this one of a kind cedar grove. Many of the ancient western red cedars are more than 8 feet in diameter and loom 175 feet above Ross Creek.
